The Beasts.

This apartment is overrun by wild animals. They own the place... I'm just here to feed them. It's demanding work, but somebody's gotta do it.

First, there's Bosco. He's the Top Cat, the alpha dog, the big cheese. He was here first. He was rescued as a kitten... but as he grew up, it was clear he needed someone of his own kind to keep company with. Enter Jake, the dumb blonde. A beautiful animal, but not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Jake will only drink water out of the bathroom faucet, so his nickname is Spigot.

I found Peanut out in the bushes in front of my building one winter day. For about a week, I would bring him some food and water. Then one night it rained, and I couldn't bear to leave him outside. He joined the family for a couple of months, till one of my neighbors took him. He was a luxury beast, very elegant. Now he has a roomate, Corduroy.

And then along came Tommy. The Tomster came from a friend who hit some bumps in the road (after 9-11) and needed a steady shack for his beast to hang out in for a while. After a year, Tommy and my Dad had become such good friends that it was hard to give him back. Now that Pops has moved to the Villa, Tommy is headed east.

Life is good with a bunch of happy animals running around the place. Here are some pix of the crew at work. Click on an image to see it larger.
