In the spring of '01 I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. Once I got the throat surgery out of the way, I knew I'd have to get the weight off. I had peaked at 275 lbs! I had to loose a lot of weight for several reasons.
I found a cool place half way between home and work. It's a one-of-a-kind gym, not a franchise. No juicers, and no meat market. It's called Better Body Maker. I started training 3 times a week, half hour workouts. And I started 30-45 minutes of cardio on my non-workout days. They put me on a meal plan, and proceeded to beat the tar outta me. In 1 year I was down 57 lbs. My body fat went from 34% to 21% In may of '05, my Dad got ill, and things got pretty rough for a while. It's knocked me off my food and cardio routines, and I'm training only twice a week. Up up about 10 lbs, right about 200. But my Pop is recovering, and as he gets back on his feet, I can get back to business. At the gym they're more interested in the BMI, or bodyfat percentage. There have been weeks when I've come in 2 lbs heavier, but it's been lean-body gain, not fat. My goal is to get to about 16% fat... that would be phenominal at my age.
